since 60gb are kinda too small for a life in 2005 I got a ~220 gib maxtor usb2.0 hdd.. works fine with that notebook 10mib/s transfer rate from the notebook to the usb harddisc

 Debian Sarge Netinst
 Netzwerkkarte (Broadcom Corporation BCM4401 100Base-T) wurde ohne Probleme erkannt, sodass ich anschließend sofort auf Debian SID sowie den aktuellsten Kernel upgedated habe.

DRM funktioniert, XFree läuft nur mit 1024x786, Xorg mit 1280x1024 - es sind keine Bios Patches notwendig

Workaround:
Xorg installieren

gab probleme mit XSession, eine funktion namens run_parts wurde nicht gefunden - anscheinend wurde die Installation hier nicht richtig abgeschlossen - die Funktion fand sich jedenfalls in /etc/X11/Xsession.dpkg-dist

Die Maus scheint nach einer Standardinstallation etwas zu empfindlich zu sein

Workaround:
Falls es folgenden Eintrag in der xorg.conf file gibt:

DRI:

 * überprüfen ob man zugriff auf /dev/agpgart hat und das Kernelmodul i915 geladen ist bzw. der Kernel diesen Chip unterstützt

Dualhead:
 * Läuft sehr gut! Verwende 1280x1024 zum arbeiten und 1024x768 zum Movie schauen (sogar mit Xinerama:-) der Treiber wird demnächst im Xorg Projekt zur Verfügung gestellt das Update wird einen Fatalen Xvideo Bug 1280x1024 beheben, sowie Xinerama support ermöglichen.

SD Cardreader
