Option /
Interweb
Defines an InterWiki or better "interweb" link.
Syntax:
Examples:
Some InterWeb links in action:
Embedding "page" information
With wikis "page" information is always at the end of the URL, but this is not typical for other websites.
WebPages and SearchEngines:
If the URL contains a "@" then this is used as an insertion marker. For example the Google search might be defined:
External FAQs:
For numeric FAQ entries, there is a special solution. The pattern "n.m" (e. g. "2.10") is taken apart. Then these parts are inserted at marker "@" and "@@". For example the FAQ link above might be defined:
Conversion
Encoding conversion is necessary for simple use of InterWikiLinks under the condition that
- the link contains foreign characters and
- the source and target system use different encodings
ProWiki handles the conversion for the most common encodings, iso-8859-1 (WikiUnicode=0) and Unicode / UTF-8 (WikiUnicode=1).

Notes
There is a GlobalInterWebList that defines generally useful Websites. To get a name into this list, make sure that it really of importance to the majority of wikis and suggest it at the HelpDesk.
Websites that are of local importances are best defined in the TopContextPage of the wiki.
