Root Server
A RootServer is a WebServer sold by Providers with a minimum Linux configuration. All further work (Linux administration, security, backups, ..) must be done by the customer. Prices start at $30-50 per month.
A RootServer is the cheapest way to get a high-performance environment for a ProWikiServer. But you need to have solid Linux system administration abilities.
Comparison to other ServerTypes:
- a ManagedServer is technically the same. You don't have to care about Linux administration and you pay for that.
- a VirtualServer is similar to a ManagedServer with respect to Linux administration and security, but you pay less and get less performance and especially less space.
