How To Create Lists

There are three types of lists:

  • lists with bullets (lines start with one or more "*")
  • numbered lists (lines start with one or more "#")
  • plain lists (lines start with one or more ":")
The number of characters used at the beginning of the line sets the indentation level.

Example for a numbered list ("#"):

  1. This
    1. is
    2. a
  2. numbered
    1. list
Example for a plain list (":"):

Mr. John Smith
Some Adress
Phone #

Plain indentation is often used to give structure to the contributions of a discussion.
